THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NATURAL GAS AND PROPANE

LIQUID PROPANE IS HEAVIER THEN AIR AND IF IT'S NOT TREATED RIGHT OR VENTED RIGHT YOU COULD BE SETTING YOURSELF UP FOR AN EXPLOSIVE ACCIDENT.
Natural gas is much safer then propane. Both must be vented very well but propane must be vented otherwise your creating a combustable area and when the flame hits the gas depending how much gas has accumilated it could explode. Propane is like flowing water so you want to always use a pan under the burner so you try to keep the propane from flowing down. That's why a pan is so important. Natural gas is more forgiving.
Propane must be dealt with cautiosly. When in doubt ask question. The only accidents i have seen with firepits invloved propane and grave ignorance.
I have been told by the engineers to not use crush glass with propane. And if you ignore that advise ignore the web sites that say use 3 inches of glass. Only use enough so you don't see the burner thrrough the glass.
